Teen Center-- The Teen Center is open for youth grades 7-12 Monday through Friday from 3-5 pm. We follow the school schedule most of the time. We put updates to schedule on our face book page.
Rhythm Ryders Spin Program: The Spin program has been a great success. Launching in October of 2018 the Spin program has reached many citizens in our area and have met there fitness needs. The schedule changes weekly and we post our weekly schedules on Friday evening for the following week on our face book page as well. The Spin program is free to all and we utilize volunteer instructors to facilitate the classes. Anyone interested in becoming an instructor can contact Thomas Kenney at firstname.lastname@example.org.
City Dog Park: The new City Dog Park is open. Launching in the summer of 2019 the Dog park was funded by a grant by the Randy Boyd Foundation. The Dog Park is located at howard field in the back off 1st avenue. Come out with your dogs and enjoy the park.
Gardenia Park: Gardenia Park has had some updates this past year. Winter of 2019 we added a restroom facility. In the Summer of 2019 William Craig from our local Boy Scout Troop 154 did his eagle project and installed a GaGa Ball pit. The rules are posted and how to play on the side of the pit. Come out and have some fun. We have also installed a new double post swing set for the kids and youth in the summer of 2019. Thanks to the Mount Pleasant downtown merchants as a community sponsor in getting this great new piece to Gardenia Park.
Scout Hut: Driving down 1st avenue on Howard field you will notice the Scout hut is under remodel and repair.
This has been a long awaited project and we are moving forward with the historic project.
Arrow Mines Park: Driving over to arrow mines road you will notice that Arrow Mines park has had many updates this past year. Swings had been installed, basketball goals udated and painted tire park installed. Thanks to StaciJo Hildner and Eric Hildner that have dedicated countless hours in helping renovate this park. The civitan Club of Mount Pleasant has also donated a picnic shelter for all to use. Amazing things happening at arrow Mines park. Thanks to all involved in making this a success.
Thunder Over Maury: Our annual event of Thunder Over Maury is now 2 years old after we rebranded the event from the Wings and Wheels. It has been a great success the past 2 years. We are working hard to add more to the event and look at alternative dates for 2020. Check back for details soon.
Splash Pad: The long anticipated Splash Pad for the City is on its way! We have been working hard with our community partners and our local High school to get this done hopefully by summer of 2020. This will be located next to community center on 501 Tiger Trail. Driving by you will see numerous stakes and marking as we move forward with the design plan.
